Iowa City city council and underage drinking



This story aired on Daily Iowan TV on September 3, 2009. It explores the viewpoint of Iowa City city council members on underage drinking. Since the University of Iowa is the #12 Party School in the nation, the city council is beginning to take a stand against underage drinking. Recently they denied renewing liquor licenses for two downtown bars.

Iowa City Historical District Expanding





This story aired on Daily Iowan TV May 14, 2009. I attended a city council meeting to learn about the new bar ordinance. One item was in front of the bar ordinance...discussion about the Iowa City historical district. Over 20 people showed up to express their opinion about the expansion of the district. This story sprouted from that meeting.
